Cosy Baroque
Temporary Installation (2013)
Tate Modern, London.

Cosy Baroque explored how many old buildings do not fall within EU standards for insulation. With the need to wrap up these buildings and the evolution of milling technologies the installation proposed a baroque renaissance and in the process stop the demolition of older buildings that fall foul of regulations. This vision would make cities into large wedding cakes with London finally meeting the ideals of a Canaletto painting. We predict that this style could naturally take off like the 1980’s craze of pebbledashing buildings - but a more environmentally conscious version.
